I'm thinking about participating in [livejournal.com profile] sgabigbang, but man ... 40,000 words is a LOT. I mean ... a lot a lot. I've been in fandom for a really long time and the longest completed work I have is my eXistenZ story which clocks in at just over 17,000.

Still, it seems like fun, and I like the idea of having someone do fanart for something I write :>

40k?! Good lord. It's like NaNo. And I keep forgetting that you haven't written a FictionLyn sized piece because your name has been around so long.

I know! It's like NaNo! But with bigbang you get more time, so that's something x_x Still, I don't think I could do it - I'm just not that profilic a writer. At least, not if I have to 'force' it, if I write something and it just happens to turn out that long, that's fine. But I know I couldn't sit down and go "i am not going to write a 40K story". Eepz.

Still...40k. Eek. That's so many words. That have to make sense. That's in a class all its own. I can't understand people that can world build, or expand on, that much. I have a couple on my flist, and it just shocks me to see that. I don't know how anyone can say "Okay, so 40k words will be easy enough." I just. No. No, no. I think it's pulling teeth to hit 3k.

God, I can't imagine writing that much. I think the longest I've done lately is about 3000 words and that was a stretch. used used to be able to churn out long fic but those days seem to be very much over. Good luck!

Hehe, I didn't actually sign up x_x I know myself and I just don't know if I could write that much.
